"Tilluke" ämblik / Itsy - bitsy spider

Küll on hea et ma enam ämblikuid ei karda. Nimelt täna hommikul voodit tehes avastasin ma pealisteki vahelt pildil oleva tegelase... Arvestades, et keskmise eluea jooksul sööb inimene magades assortii 70 st putukast ja 10 ämblikku on mul hea meel et tänahommikune juhtum statistikaks ei saanud...
Well, I am glad that I´m not afraid of spiders anymore. This morning when I was making up my bed I discovered the lovely creature on the picture... Considering, that in the course of an average lifetime, a person will, while sleeping, eat 70 assorted insects and 10 spiders, I am happy that todays event didn´t make it to the list of statistics...

Järgmise korrani! / Till next time!

Cairnsi lennujaam. On raske kirjedada oma mõtteid ja tundmusi. Osa minust nutab ja teine naerab. Korraga annab seda teha seesmiselt. Eesti - rõõm on koju minna, Austraalia - kurb on lahkuda.
Eelnev päev oli imeilus. Sai lõpuks suurt korallrahu külastatud. Minekul ja tulekul sai enamuse ajast kiirpaadi tekil peesitatud, sest uskuge või mitte, sügisel on päris jahe - kui 29´nii kutsuda saab ;). Käisime kahel välimisel rahul. Vesi oli mõnusalt 27´ringis ja pärast 5. tunnist soolases vees möllamist olime kõik kenasti krimpsus, lihased valusad, ent õnnelikud. Ma tean, et kõik räägivad samamoodi, aga see tõesti on midagi hoopis teistsugust. Ühel hetkel hulbid vees, teisel pistad pea vette ning unustad kõik muu. Mõnes kohas oled rahule lausa poole meetri lähedusel, äärealale minnes satud aga kuristiku servale kus põhja ei näegi... Teises kohas on põhi
jälle 5m kaugusel ja nii valge liivaga... vaatad kuidas pisike valge hai ennast sinna peaaegu ära
peidab.Korallid olid oodatumast kahvatumad..., kuid oh seda kalade värvierksust! Kõige meeldejäävamad hetked olid kui sattusin suure kalaparve keskele ja nendega veidi kaasa triivisin ning siis kui suure kilpkonna järel umbes mitu minutit ujusime. Ja laast, aga mitte liist
(kui kasutada sõbra toredat väljendit) oli korralik lõuna paadi tekil :P.

Cairns airport. It is hard to describe my thoughts and feelings. Part of me is in tears and the other is smiling. But it´s all inside. Estonia - it´s a joy to go home, Australia - it breaks my heart to leave.
The day before was marvellous. We visited the Great Barrier Reef. We went to two outer reefs. Water was nice and warm - about 27´ - and after 5 hours fun in salty water we were wrinkled like dried plums, our muscles were aching, but happy. I know, that everybody is saying the same thing, but it really is another world. This is the best way to describe it. On one moment you are floating in the water, wide ocean around you and on the next you put your head under and forget everything else.

On some places the reef is just half a meter away, on the edge you are suddenly over an abyss and you can´t even see the bottom... And then there is 5 meters to the white sand... and you see a little white shark almost blending in with it. Corals were not so colourful as I expected..., but the bright colours of the fish! Most memorable moments were when I was suddenly in the middle of a fish school and swimming with a turtle for several minutes.
And last, but not least was a delicious meal on board of the ship :P.

Aotearoa VI

Viimase Queenstowni vaba päeva otsustasin veeta hommikul väsimust väljamagades ja pärastlõunal linnas muljetades. Läks aga teisiti. Mingil veidral põhjusel loobusin sellest kõigest, et hommikul kell 7 üles tõusta ja 8 tunnisele matkale minna. Selline plaan oli mu kahel tuurikaaslasel, kes samuti Qt - s tuuri lõpetasid ning kuidagi haarasid nad ka minu sinna. Mõeldud, tehtud - kuigi esimest osa ma väga ei teinud, sest sihtkoha faktidesse ma väga ei süüvinud. Rada tõusis 1743 meetri kõrgusele, Ben Lomondile, pidevalt tõustes ja mõeldud väga hea füüsilise vormiga inimestele, mille alla ma pärast 10 päevast bussis istumist ja igapäevaste kokakunsti hõrgutiste nautimist väga ei kuulunud. Päeva alustuseks kohvikus hommikukohvi (khm tähendab kakao mulle :)) joodud, ütlesin, et ma tulen, aga jätan omale vabaduse igal hetkel tagasi pöörduda. Alustasime sellega, et seal kus tavaliselt inimesed köisraudteega vaateplatvormile sõidavad, valisime meie metsaraja. Mis oli järsk. Minu jaoks ... huhh ütleme nii et see oli raske ja iga pöörde peal uut tõusu nähes olin juba suht valmis tagasi pöörduma. Aga punnisin ikka edasi. Tahtsin ju nii hirmsasti näha mis järgmise tipu taga peitub. Andsin juba siis teistele teada, et nemad kui sellises matkastiilis kogenud, võivad igal ajal minust ette minna ja kui ma järgi ei tule siis ma lihtsalt pöörasin tagasi. Aga kuidagi läks nii, et kuigi jäin maha nii mõnigi kord, ootasid nad mu ikka ära, kuigi olin vahepeal nii väsinud et jalg ei tahtnud enam jala ette tõusta sundisin end ikka ja jälle jupikest edasi liikuma. Algul oli lihtsalt uudishimu, pärast aga mõtlesin, et kui juba siaamaale suutsin tulla siis suudan veel natuke... Nii ta siis läks :)). Kuni jõudsime selle kõrgeima tipu jalamile. Ma täpselt ei tea kui mitu meetrit tõusu seal veel jäi, kuskil 300 - 500 vahel vist. Pidasime väikse pikniku ja siis ma saatsin teised tippu vallutama ja jäin sinna puhkama. Aga ega minugi vaade alla jäänud! Nii võrratu ja minule midagi täiesti uut! Mäeahelikud kaugusse kadumas... ja selline vaikus ja rahu...Ootasin teisi poolteist tundi, aga see lendas mööda nagu too lind kes mulle vaid paari meetri kaugusele lendas, enne kui kõrvale pöörata märkas. Kogu see rügamine oli seda väärt ja veel enamgi. Sealolles mõtlesin, et sellise vaate eest roniks kasvõi iga nädalavahetuskKui Qt- s elaksin :).

I had made up my mind to spend my last day in Queenstown relaxing. Sleeping long in the morning to banish my tiredness and the afternoon discovering the city. Well, it didn´t work out thatway. For some reason I gave it up to wake up 7 o´clock in the morning and take an 8 hour hike. This was the plan that my two travelmates had made and somehow they managed to talk me into it too. A little thought and it´s a deal. Although I did not think, `cos I didn´t dwell on the facts. The path we were to take, got high up to 1743 meters, to Ben Lomond, and in a constant ascend. Meant for people with high physical endurance and I didn´t count myself one after 10 days in a bus and enjoying delicious and rich meals. We started our day in a cafè with morning coffee (khm hot chocolate for me ;)) and afetr that I decided to go , but left myself an option to turn back whenever needed. There, where people normally choose the gondola ride up, we took the path through the forest. And it was steep. For me... lets just say that it was hard and on every turn when I saw the path still going up with the same incline I was almost ready to turn back. But I kept going. `Cos I wanted to see whats behind the next hill. I had told to others that they should´nt wait for me and if I wasn´t following anymore, I had turned back. But somehow it happend that though I was sometimes far behind, they waited for me and though my legs were so tired that I thought I can´t take another step I still found myself going on. At first it was curiosity and later I thought, ok when you made it thisfar you can make it a little more. Until we reached the saddle of BL. I don´t know how many meters were left to the summit, about 300 - 500 I quess. There we made a little picnic and then I sent others off to conquer the summit. But I can´t complain over my view there eather! So extraordinary and new was the sight to me! Mountainchains flowing to the distance... and the peace an quiet... I waited for others about an hour and a half, but it flew by like the bird who flew right towards me before noticed to turn away a couple of meters before me. All this hard work of getting there paid of and even more. Standing there, I thought that for a view like this I would climb every weekend if living there :).
